Lindfield Village Plan

The Village Plan has been published and copies may be obtained free of charge from the Parish Office (or downloaded from the Parish Council website: http://www.lindfieldparishcouncil.org.uk).

The Plan was presented to a joint meeting of our two Parish Councils and formally accepted by them. We have now reached the stage of working towards the implementation of the various actions set out within it.

In order to assist in achieving this, the two Parish Councils have set up the Lindfield Village Plan Joint Advisory Committee to oversee the implementation of the plan on their behalf. The committee is not responsible for actually implementing the individual actions in the Plan; its role is to encourage, advise and progress chase those organizations that do have this responsibility. Some of the actions require resources to be made available and in these cases the relevant authorities will have to be persuaded of the importance of doing so. The committee held its first meeting in September and will submit a six monthly progress reports to the local community.
The Preservation Society made a financial contribution towards the cost of establishing the plan. In addition, on an individual basis, several members of the Society were actively involved in its production and subsequently the work of the advisory committee.

Restoration of the Duck House on the Pond

The duck house

A long time before our recent well reported problems with the pond, the society financially supported “Mac” Turners restoration of the Duck House. The restored little house was installed on the island on 1st April by Lindfield’s Pond Warden, Richard Powell and we have been told that it was let very quickly.
