On another topic, you may have noticed a national petition to government and parliament to give communities back the right to decide where houses are built. Specifically, the petition seeks a community right of appeal on planning decisions. This is a measure we also proposed in our recent open letter to Sir Nicholas Soames. If the petition attracts 100,000 signatures, it will be considered for a debate in parliament (current total is about 20,856). The government has already issued a dismissive response, but a parliamentary debate could still add pressure for a much needed revision of planning legislation.
If you wish to sign it, you can find the petition at: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/177333
